anyone have ulcerative colitis?

Hi. I was just diagnosed with ulcerative colitis - a mild case - just one symptom (lower right abdominal pain once in a while over 15 years). I recently had a colonoscopy and four of the biopsies they took in the colon confirmed the colitis. I am now taking two 400mg Asacor three times a day for possibly eight weeks. I was wondering if anyone else had UC. Thanks in advance for any replies.

anyone have ulcerative colitis?

I have had UC for about 18 years. I didn't go into remission until last year. However, I have been able to control the symptoms with medication and diet. Many people are in remission much of the time, with occasional flares. Once you get your head around it the problem doesn't seem so scary.

Ask questions if you want more details, or PM me. Glad to help.

Saw the specialist - I don't have UC!!!!!

The gastroenterologist explained that I do not have UC and I'm so relieved! Thank God! Thanks to all for your replies and prayers!
