I'm here ((Gidge)) I didnt even see this post when you first posted it :-( I'm sorry...the funny thing was that I've been thinking about you for the last several days wondering where *you* were at..lol..
When I was heading over to this forum, I was thinking how I was gonna email or PM you to see how things were & there you were!! We ((Sisters)) must really *have* some connection!
I'm soo sorry to hear about your appt <sigh> you've hung in there soo long awaiting this day & I know you were hoping it would bring you closer to some answers. I'm glad you got those referrals tho! Often seems like your back to square one huh?
I'll be thinking of you & praying they contact you soon concerning that consult & tests.
Good Luck my friend...pls know I'm always here for you Like you've been for me....thank you! Keep us posted, ok??
Love ya ((Gidge))

thanks so much for your replies girls, it helps a ton just to know there is someone out there that gives a hoot and is listening!

I am disappointed that this doc stringed me along for almost a year before deciding she couldn't help me.....I mean the first appt she told me straight out that I had two prolapses bowel and bladder and possibly a third.....then the next appt she thought it was just bladder and then she said she didn't think an MRI would be useful for diagnosing and then she insisted at the next it was the definitive tool........I should've turned around and ran a long time ago but I guess you just want to keep believing that they will help......plus initially she was so concerned she rushed me in for bloodwork overnight and had me in for a cystoscopy in 3 days....in Canada that is unheard of unless it's cancer related, so here I thought, now I've finally got a mover and a shaker that's gonna fix me..........NOT

so now I wait for an appt to see another uro that will then try to book me for a hydrodistension so this could take 6mths again, when she could've done it for me but has decided that she doesn't offer "ongoing care" for anything that isn't emergently surgical.......

in the meantime I live the pain, discomfort of feeling like I"m sitting on something pointy, leaking.....and now I"m getting blood on the pantyliner I now have to use for the leaking but NO I don't need to see someone in a hurry.......

to say I'm disheartened would be a huge understatement....at least I have my sisters who some of which are going thru it to and understand, thanks!

Well, Gidge.... I am just so sorry you are not receiving more compassionate care. I think if you felt that a doctor would look after you and be there for you this would all be easier for you to take.

I know my caring doctor has made all the difference for me. If I could stick him on the xerox and mail his duplicate to you in Canada, I would.

You deserve better medical care than what you are getting. I'll continue to for a special for you in the form of at least one caring

thanks Sheri, I'm trying....I see the dermatologist about the red rash that goes across both cheeks and my nose (had it since hyst but it just keeps getting worse and my family has a history of lupus so.....) and also the shingles I've had for 5mths.....hopefully he can be helpful still no word on my referrals from the uro, it's been over two weeks I think I will call and follow up.....probably get stonewalled but at least then I can say I tried right?

we shouldn't have to fight this hard to get better!

Awww, Gidge,

I haven't been around for anyone, and I' m sorry! I lost my job (the day of my 6-year anniversary, thank you very much) and our house sale fell through, so I've been feeling pretty sorry for myself, not to mention the physical stuff I have going on and don't have time to dwell on.

I was disheartened to read about your ongoing problems today and your usual problems of trying to find adequate healthcare.

Come to North Carolina, USA and stay with DH and I! We'll get you the care you need long before you would get it up there. Heck, my DH called his doctor on Monday regarding his loss of sense of smell (due to the flu) and he had an appointment the same afternoon.

<<and now I"m getting blood on the pantyliner...>>>

I would think that would scare any doctor into getting you into his/her office immediately!

This is just ridiculous that they keep you waiting so long.
I know how much you hate ERs...but if you continue to bleed, even spot, GO THERE. And consider coming to the States for care. Our country won't pay, but we'll take care of you, like you deserve!

Of course you are welcome to come to the US, but you should not have to! There has just got to be a doc in BC who will literally hold your hand, give you a warm, friendly hug and say "sweetie we are going to get you through this".

He or she is out there. I just know it!

So, I ask our fellow sisters who pray to take a moment out of your day and pray for that special angel in the form of a doctor to help Gidge heal.

Love ya, Gidge. Hang in there. Help will be on the way!!!!

thanks so much girls!

I haven't heard still of my referral appt's and the weekend was heck for pain.....saw my GP on Fri night and asked to be sent to a hormone specialist, cause he's no help.....I swear he just doesn't think sometimes, I've been trying for a year to see an allergy nutritionist and he didn't even have written on the referral that I had a life threatening allergy to sulphites (that's my big one) he said "well it says sulpha that's the same thing" NO IT"S NOT!!!

I left there feeling like it's all a big waste of time.....I"m just going in circles it seems

at least I have you girls and thanks for the offer of coming to the U.S. it would be the first time I"ve considered it that's for sure!!! 's!!

Hey Gidge,

It took me three months to get into the uro-gyn, another three weeks to schedule a defo, two weeks (and my local doc calling) to get the results of the defo, another 6 weeks to get an appt with the colorectal guy, and it was another 8 weeks until my surgical repair. Even in the US some of these specialists are a pain to deal with, get appts with, and to get answers from. I am extremely thankful that I have a great local doc that is nice enough to work with me.

Blood on the pantiliner - long term use of liners and pads can cause irritation. Maybe the bleeding is simply from the fact you're having to wear a liner all the time? Grab a mirror an take a peak to see if anything looks red and inflamed. Maybe try "going commando" (haven't seen that phrase on the site for a while) while at home and see if you get an improvement in the bleeding. Maybe while in bed you could skip the panties and liner and put down a couple of towels in case you leak in your sleep? It may not help, but anything is worth a try at this point.
