painful urination - really worried!!

For about a week I have had pain when I urinate, sort of burning and pain after I go. It is exactly the pain I had during radiation treatment (one year ago). I began taking pills that were left from then (Sedural) which are for the pain. When it didn't go away, I did a urine culture which today came back all clear.

So, what else could be causing the pain?

Anyone else have similar?

I go to oncologist tomorrow (not 2-23 as on calender), I will
ask this question first thing, and can just imagine her saying "well of course you have pain, look what we found in your CT results"

I would apreciate any replies, especially by e-mail, as I don't think I'll have time to check back here.

Esther--

Don't jump to conclusions...or as we say around here, don't pay the toll till you get to the bridge. I can hear some "cancerhead" already calling out, and we all have had that same experience.

Hopefully this will be due to some easily fixible thing that requires nothing stronger than some cranberry juice!

I'll keep you in prayer.

Blessings.

painful urination - really worried!!

Esther
My gyn told me to possibly expect pevic and painful urination as time goes on...She said that the bladder and the entire area is kept healthy from estrogen.....I started to notice the burning and just an uncomfortable feeling a while back. My gyn prescribed the Estring (a very very low dose estrogen ring placed in the vagina). She said that the estrogen would only go to the vaginal/urinary areas and would be fine for me to take....It has been great....I can tell when the 3 months is getting close...time to change the ring. Let us know what the doc says.

Esther,

Chris's response sounds hopeful! Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's a "normal" (if aggravating) side effect of "estrogen deprivation".

Let us know how the appointment goes.

Blessings.
