large uterus & carcinoma in situ

Not sure where to start. In Oct I went in for yearly physical. My pap showed carcinoma in situ. I since developed swelling of my fingers when I wake(December). Had a punch biopsy- came back sever dysplasia(January). I have been having upper right quadrant pain- not severe just annoying(since Nov/Dec). Had a sonogram of that area- no gallstones, liver looked okay. My liver functions showed slight elevation but 1 month later normal.

While waiting for the results of punch biopsy- I developed symptoms of feeling pregnant. frequent urination, fullness and I could feel what I believe was my uterus. Doctor ordered a sono. He thought that it might be fibroids or ovary. My sonogram showed my uterus to be large - just over 12cm. No fibroids and I had small functional cysts. I am wondering if these symptoms can be related. I am only 33 so, the doctor said that uterine cancer isn't as likely. He said I will need a hysterectomy since it is over 12cm. I am having laproscopy and conization to see what is going on. I am a bit nervous! What else can it be?

Dear Karen,

I'm sorry that you are having to deal with this! I'm not a doctor, and so I certainly don't know all the various possibilities. Hopefully the lap and the cone will give your DR more info, and of course you can always opt for a second opinion.

Please keep us informed!

Blessings.
