Stand Up Straight ?

Hello Sisters,

Has anyone has been told by their doctors that following surgery you should try and stand up straight as soon as possible?

A friend of my mom's just told me that after her hysterectomy, one of the nurses told her she needed to try and stand up straight to "put things back in place". Supposedly, after surgery things sag and need some re-adjustment.

I never heard of this before and will ask my doctor before I do ANYTHING. I was just wondering if anyone else had been told this and if it's true.

Never heard this. Would think it's next to impossible holding the belly and shuffling to the bathroom, to even care about posture. The past few days I've tried to pay more attention to my posture because I feel better standing straight now.

I don't believe standing up straight was about posture. She made me believe it was about your "insides" being put back in place.

I saw you had your surgery a month ago and was wondering, how long will I be holding my belly and shuffling to the bathroom?

other than trying to realign my posture,,,i will be holding my belly just so i can position myself to pee in the toilet,,,not all over it...lol.
im wondering if all these are wives tales,,,or just confidence uplifts. who knows,,,lets all take it one day at a time and let our loved ones finally help us ,,even if its to the thrones.lol.

im startingto go in joke mode here as i approach my castle day,
today is preop,,,all day long it seems,,,as i gave blood to thevampires the other day,,,now to me today. Im feeling so anemic at this point,,im just so happy the day is tues and lets get this out...lol...then i will take one day at a time and learn to be gentle w/myself,,,then i will stand up straight as i get to feeling better,,,but w/pride.
