I am back from Castle today!!! But headache...

Reply to Kite:

When I returned home I got occasional headaches for which I took naproxen. On the 4th day I got a nonstop headeache for which I had taken naproxen throughout the day & still couldn't get rid of it. The doctor said it was probably the anesthesia which can stay in your system for two weeks post-op. I also had a pain in my neck on the same side as the headache. I used a heating pad on my neck and on my forehead, eventually dozed off and the pain went away.

The next day the doctor's LPN called me and suggested Tylenol which I've been taking ever since for any discomfort or if I feel a headache coming on. Surprisingly It works better for me than the naproxen.

Hope this helps.

I also had headaches starting in the hospital. I hardly ever get headaches, so I was very uncomfortable. Tylenol worked for me. I am now 11 days post op and no headaches. Good luck

I am back from Castle today!!! But headache...

Glad to hear I'm not alone on the neck pain and headaches. My TAH was 2-24 and I got home 2-26. Neck pain and headaches started 2-26. I'm 47 so I figured I was just taking my sweet time getting over the surgery. Hydrocodone backs it off some until I can sleep.

This is a great site and I have found some wonderful information. Thank you to everyone for sharing!!

I am back from Castle today!!! But headache...

I had laparoscopic surgery last year and two days post op I had a headache and neckache that lasted all day long and through the night. I was taking oxycodone and even that didn't help!

The reason for the neckache that lead to the migraine was because of the terrible position they keep you in while you are intibated! When the headache turned to migraine, it got so severe that I started to vomit (which really hurt my tummy) and then both of my forearms became numb and tingly and my hands started to contract and I ended up in the ER. But after a brain CT, demoral shot and vercet (sp?), all was well and I went home.

As it turns out, 3-4 ibuprofen did the trick, and if it's ok with your doc, take it as soon as you start to feel the headache come on. The anti-inflammatory effect really works (better than Tylenol, at least for me!)

I had the terrible headaches too. I was given Motrin in the hospital and it helped I continued to take it when I came home. At my two week check-up I was still having daily headaches and a few other symptoms (nightsweats, insomnia). The doctor put me on HRT and the headaches were gone within a week and the other symptoms in about 2 to 3 weeks.

Thank you so much for your support...
At the hospital they gave me IMITREX so expensive medicine for migranes. Was so extrange because when I was at the hospital and also here at home the headaches start every day at the same time 3:00 a.m. in the morning.. Was like drilling my brain. For a moment I forgot about the surgery.
I don't know! but my DH gave me a juice "naturistic thing" and desapear!! Thanks God!... I no need more that medicine. I hope so sisters you can feel better too...
I am with this reply for say thank you.. Now I am 9 days post and trying to follow the instructions from de Dr.
