Insurance Woes!!

I have medisave ( compulsory savings built upduring the time I was in teaching ) ... a dependent civil service card and the govvernment grant ..

That took care of everything . However I heard tht I coudl possibly claim the medisave back from the insurance company .

Nope. Turned out that because mine was a pre existing condition it was a no go .

insurance woes

OMG i cant believe that the insurance company is delaying your surgery for more information. What part of OVARIAN CANCER dont they understand. I would call my insurance company and tell them if it causes me more problems with the delay im not gonna be happy. Time is a factor i would think in yanking them overies asap to get cancer stopped quickly. Good luck with your insurance company and hope you have a speedy recovery.

Insurance Woes!!

If your doctor has actually provided them with a firm diagnosis of ovarian cancer, then I would file a complaint with the state division of insurance .

However, the reason for more information could be that most of these surgeries are for SUSPECTED ovarian cancer , and the final diagnosis can't be made until the actual surgery. Perhaps it's a coding issue with billing (needing the actual diagnosis) that's causing the delay.

The medical standard is to operate when OC is suspected so there's no way they are going to deny your claim. I have a friend whose doctor (a very prestigious and experienced doctor in Massachusetts) was so sure she had ovarian cancer he cancelled his vacation. All turned out benign.
