Back Pain?

I have been diagnosed with severe hyperplasia with atypia and am awaiting more path tests before determining whether to do a TVH or TAH with removal of lymph nodes. I was told that this is not cancer, but precancer. My daughter just said she had read that back pain in the upper back is an indication that uterine cancer has spread. Does anyone know anything abou this?

Back Pain?

Hi Smiley,

I know how easy it is to worry that every new pain or sensation is cancer, but at your stage of not even having cancer, I wouldn't worry about it spreading. You would have many other smptoms before it spread. There are so many causes of back pain, and innyour case, cancer is probably the LEAST likey cause.

Back Pain?

Smiley (love the name!)

While I can't answer that question, there certainly seem to be all sorts of pains associated with all sorts of things, and not necessarily cancer. Your doctor is the best one to talk to. We all tend to get what's called "cancerhead" if we've had a cancer or even pre-cancer diagnosis...and we figure that every problem must be cancer-related. That's why it's good to get as much info as possible on one's own particular cancer or pre-cancer, and also to consult the DR.

I've told the story here on HS several times about how I wrenched my back and neck last summer while painting without using a stool to get to the highest areas (duh) and then worried that the pain and spasms in my back and neck were some sort of spread of my endo cancer of 4 years ago. But it was my own dumb fault for being too lazy to get a stool to stand on!

So I'll be praying that your surgery takes care of any problems once and for all! Try to get as informed as you can about your own situation--and all the best!

Blessings.
Marlene
