Pelvic Floor Hernia??

is that possible?? I had really bad prolapse which was one of the reasons for my hyst last year. Now every once in a while, I get really severe pain that drops me to my knees. This will happen suddenly, after I rise from sitting. If I grab my belly and support it somewhat, the pain lessens. It usually will go almost away, but I will go through that same thing several times, until I spend most of a day in bed, then it is better for a while. Anybody have any ideas? When I explained it to my doc today, she thought I was nuts!

Pelvic Floor Hernia??

Your doctor should have some ideas for you or at least know who to refer you to for further care.

I am curious, what did your doctor say? I hope she didn't say, "you're nuts" or give you the brush off.

When a patient has pain it should be addressed by that doctor or by a referral to another. That's my opinion, as a patient.

I hope you find the care you seek. You deserve to have your concerns taken seriously and addressed.

Pelvic Floor Hernia??

unfortunately, the woman doc gave me the "brush off" I do have an appointment next week with my Weight Loss Surgery doc. I am going to be checked for incisional hernia's then. I know that I have the start of a small one, which will make me a prime candidate for a Tummy tuck! and maybe at that time the pelvic floor muscles could get a "tuck" too! I can only hope!!!

Pelvic Floor Hernia??

your symptoms sound alot like mine--having to hold the tummy for far i've been diagnosed with a hernia and am scheduled for repair on 3/19...the GYN is going to be present to look around to make sure theres no adhesions or scar tissue thats built up since the hysterectomy...hopefully you'll get some insight as to whats going on with you real soon.
