cancer again?

In August of 2003 I had a hyserectomy due to cervical cancer. No other treatment was needed. Now just 7 months later they think I may have bladder cancer. Has this happened to anyone else? .

cancer again?

Lirpa,

My cancer was different, but I do hope that you will obtain solid info...and if necessary, second opinions, so that you'll know what options are out there.

Please keep us posted. We'll keep you in prayer and good wishes.

Blessings.

cancer again?

Hi Lirpa,

The thoiught of a new cancer or a recurrance is very scary, but why do they think it is bladder cancer? I hope you are being treated by a cancer specialist. I have had many bladder problem since my surgery such as not being able to fully empty my bladder, feeling like it is empty, but then having urine leak out and sometimes pain . Mr Dr said this is caused by adhesions from the surgery becayue he really " bounced my bladder around" to remove the tumor. He removed many of these adhesions during my last surgery in June and things were better for a few month and then they grew back.
Is it possible your bladder problems are due to adhesions? What type of testing has your Dr done? I hope they find a non cancer treatble cause of your problem

cancer again?

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I do know people who have beaten one form of cancer and then been stricken with another. If it is bladder cancer, I have heard that the prognosis is often good. You dodged a bullet once-you can do it again. good luck!

Sorry this has happened to you.

I'm assuming these are two separate cancers. My father recently finished treatment for both stomach and colorectal cancer which were diagnosed at the same time. He had recurrent tracheal cancer the year before. At his PET scan two weeks ago, he was cancer free. The tumor board said that he was the first person they encountered to have three distinct cancers so close together.

I know this is hard news to take, and you may be the rare case, but you can still beat it.

cancer again?

I am fairly certain that cervical cancer and bladder cancer are not related although i suppose it is possible for cervical to spread to the bladder but I've not that to happen to any of the gals here. What makes you think you have bladder cancer? Radiation and surgury scaring can cause bladder problems, even years after treatment.

What was your type and stage of Cervical cancer?

When you do see the doctor? I bet you don't have bladder cancer but have contracted a bad case of Cancerhead.

Best,
Janie
