Organ sag post hyst?

I am about to have a LAVH in April and am concerned about internal organ sagging and displacement after the uterus is removed. Has anyone had any experience with this ?

Organ sagging

There is a concern. It is possible to get something called "vaginal vault prolapse". It's where the vagina falls out. I had a LAVH and both uterus and cervix were removed. My dr. did something called "sacro plexy something or other" to help prevent vaginal vault prolapse. I have a permanent stitch at the top of my vaginal cuff that anchors it to something. Not sure what, but my right butt cheek hurt for quite some time due to whatever he attatched the cuff to. Consider asking for a urodynamics test. Its embarassing, but the gyn can use this to help determine if you will have incontinence problems posthyst due to your bladder falling. Do you have a prolapse now?

forgot something

sorry Kikibird I forgot I do have some experience with postop prolapse. I had a pretty severe uterine prolapse. The urodynamics test showed I should have a bladder sling to keep it up and happy. Prior to the surgery I didn't have a retocele (where the bowel protrudes into the vagina). Now I do. It isn't bad enough to operate on, but does interfere with #2's. Good luck. Do you still have all that snow in Nova Scotia? We went there a few years ago on vacation and had a wonderful time.

Thanks POKIE for the reply. Yes we still have snow up here in NS
I will ask my Doc about a sling and hope nothing falls out down the road!
