Ovarian Cancer Question/scare (long, sorry)

I, too had an ovarian mass removed in October. It was large and thank God, benign. I had surgery and had the overy removed. My Dr. did not feel that a hysterectomy was warranted as I was still getting normal periods and have no signs of menopause. ( I am 49) In January I noticed that I was again having similar symptoms. (irregular period ) I went for a transvaginal ultrasound last week and they found a large mass on the other overy. It was not there in October. After an MRI my ob/gyn, who is still convinced considering my past pathology that it is the same as the previous mass, referred me to a gyn/onc. I was very concerned about this referral because I automatically thought that I had cancer. I went to see him today (the gyn/onc). He is concerned that the mass grew so large, so fast but from priliminary exams, he said that the mass does not have the characteristics of a malignancy. I also do not have any symptoms at all. I am being scheduled for a hysterectomy. He asked me if I wanted to keep my uterus. I laughed!!!!

Has anyone had similar experiences?
