bleeding almost 3 mths post op...?

hi -

i've been lucky with pretty normal post op symptoms... i had a total hysterectomy (everything is gone) 12/31/03... had a bad cold this week - lots of hard coughing and today i've got blood when i wipe... just a bit and it's a little brownish -

could it be the coughing - i'm thinking yes - but, do i need to call the doc or is this pretty standard stuff?

bleeding almost 3 mths post op...?

I was @ 4 mos post op TAH when I had some spotting for a few days. It started out red then the next day it was brownish then it disappeared. It was never heavy, I just wore a pantyliner for a couple days. Haven't had it since and I am now 5 1/2 mos post op. So I would say its normal. It takes several months to fully heal. Take care.

Hi Cathy,

You need to call your doctor. Any new bleeding should always be reported to the doctor . It is best to be on the safe side. Please give your doctor a call. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
