this may be a silly question

I am having a full abdominal hysterectomy on Tuesday 3/16, leaving only my ovaries. Am I going to experience any more periods? I thought not, but after reading some of these threads it looks like it might be possible? Am I misunderstanding something? What do I have to look forward too?

this may be a silly question

Hi there

I;'m having full abdominal hyst tomorrow too and leaving ovaries (fingers crossed!) My understanding is that you only continue to bleed or have 'mini-periods' if your cervix is left in.

Take care

Hi! I had TAH, no cervix but leaving ovaries.
I do not have any periods anymore, but sometimes feel the ovulation process.
Some say if the cervix is left, you may expirience mini periods.
If you keep the ovaries, you may still ovulate and feel the pre-menstural part of the period.
Hope this helps~ Lamby

If you keep your cervix with your ovaries you mayexperience mini-periods. I was told by my doctor that the PMS symptoms (if you leave ovaries) may last up to 6 months afterwards.

So far I have had no problem with it. I have missed almost 4 periods now. I had 2 each month.

No problems for me..

God Bless you all
