Hi there!
There have been a couple of posts around here not too long ago on this subject; I've written a few of them myself

.
I kept my cervix with my hyst, as I'd never had a bad Pap before. They were continuing normal until about six months ago, where one came back with dysplasia (HPV-negative). The follow-up, a couple of months later, was positive for CIS (carcinoma-in-situ) and neoplasia -- it also, for the first time, was positive for HPV. I had a cryo procedure, and my followup is scheduled for April. Hopefully, that's the end of it for me!
That being said, I'm doing what I can to strengthen my immune system and taking folic acid especially; there have also been some threads about diet and HPV. It can lie dormant for
years, which is probably what happened with me. I'm trying to tell it to go dormant again!
Even if you had your cervix removed, HPV and dysplasia can occur in the vagina, which is why most recommendations are for periodic Paps post-hyst. It sounds like you had a problem with one? Most of the time, they can be dealt with pretty easily; I'm hopeful that my cryo is the last treatment I'll need!
If you do a search using my username, with "cryo*" as the search term, and searching only for posts in the last six months, I think you'll find that thread that you're looking for!
