Question about big uterus?

Ok I have my ultrasound this Friday and i will know if I have fibroids or something like that in there. I have been suffering for over 10 years and it looks like adenomyosis. i don't give a hoot what it is at this point, I just want it to go away. My dr recommends a hyst because I have had many kids and I have a history with this. The thing that makes the pain stop is pregnancy and I don't thinkI can do that again.

Anyway..I see a lot of you talking about your uterus as a 16 week size , etc. mine is enlarged, we just don't know how much though. I look 3 mos pg, and during my period it gets huge (my tummy). My dd told me today she thinks I am having another baby lol.

Do any of you have enlarged uterus with no tumors, cysts, or fibroids? I don't think I have those. I think it is just the adeno. Do any of you know why or how the uterus grows that big? And once you take that big guy out, do you look like a normal non pregnant woman again? I am just so confused as to why my uterus is so darn big. Thanks for any thoughts you may have!

Question about big uterus?

I had adeno also and just some small fibroids and my uterus was large too. When I first started having problems my Dr thought it was fibroids but suspected adeno. He really didn't have that confirmed until after is not easy to diagnos. If you go to search and type the word there is a wealth of information out there and it describes how it can be diagnosised. Yes is can be the reason for an enlarged uterus. I am over two months out and am still having some swelling toward the evening that increases the size of my tummy but having the uterus removed did take away my pregnant look. I think it is just going to take some time to get rid of it all. Good Luck with your surgery.

Question about big uterus?

I had an enlarged uterus caused by several large fibroids. I am just now three weeks out of surgery and my stomach (in the morning) is definitely flatter than it was going into the surgery. I still have that budda look to it, but when that settles, I'm feeling pretty sure that my belly will be smaller. And now that I have a bikini cut, I'll be able to wear a bikini this summer (not!).
