Some questions on ovarian cancer symptoms

The symptoms for this can be vague I know. I'm 42 and 13 years ago when expecting my DD I had a large 9cm cyst on RH ovary. It did resolve but came back sometimes over the years only to resolve again. Ever since I have had ache in that ovary around ovulation time. Every month - same ovary. It only lasted a day. Also started having PMS emotional symptoms and bloating, fluid, sore breasts. Various D&C's, sometimes follicular cysts which resolved I presume and then late last year large and several smaller fibroids discovered. Hence the vaginal hysterectomy in December no lap unfortunately. Since then severe RH side pain down groin/thigh/calf which came and went, more frequent urination, low back pain, menopausal symptoms including hot flushes/night sweats, pain with sex, bowel problems, occassional nausea. Went to new gyn in June and she ended up doing a laprascopic adhesion and cyst removal from LEFT ovary end of July. Functional cyst was the pathology report. Pain with sex improved but after trying to go off HRT realised still had problems with menopausal symptoms despite a low but acceptable hormone blood profile. Back on HRT, slight pain around mid cycle in RH ovary last month. This month severe RH pelvic/groin/thigh/calf pain back, some indigestion, some bowel problems, slight nausea and my stomach is a little bloated.
Before the lap I had a transvaginal ultrasound done which didn't pick up the adhesion of my left ovary to the cuff or the cyst.
I'm seeing gyn next week about results of a urodynamic study I had done and she is still keeping an eye on me as she is not 100 percent sure what's going on with the RH side & ovary which looked fine during lap.
Does this sound suspicious? I had thought of another adhesion but the pain is intermittent. My activity level is pretty low for someone who is fairly fit and has been for a while. I feel really run down if I try to do much and gave up part time work before lap. I have really tailored my life to not feeling 100 percent this year and I know if I tried to do much more I would collapse in a heap. Before lap I picked up everything that was going - feel a bit better on that score but just not quite right.
Any similar experiences which may be related to ovarian cancer. I'm probably concerned about this for nothing but figured this was a good place to ask, seeing as the symptoms are so vague for it.
Hugs and prayers,

Some questions on ovarian cancer symptoms

Hi Lily,

Yes, you're right, some of your symptoms are ones that do point to ovarian cancer. However, they can point to other problems also. Since I was diagnosed in April, I've done alot of reading and I had quite a few symptoms but never realized it since they were my "normal".

The ones you're describing that jump out are the frequent urination, bowel problems, pain with sex, nausea and abdominal pain. I'm glad you are going to get this checked out further. A couple of tests you may consider getting done are a CT Scan or MRI and a blood test called a CA125. It is about the only blood test that can identify the protein that elevates with ovarian cancer. The bad thing is it isn't always reliable in everyone. For me, its been pretty reliable to the up and downs levels I've been having.

I hope this helps some and I hope you're able to get some answers. I know its frustrating knowing somethings not right and not knowing what it is.

Good luck and keep us posted. I'm sending good thoughts your way.

Vicki
