Anemia?

Your Iron levels I beleive are measured by mainly by your Hemoglobin and hematocrit
I am looking at my last lab report which showed I was badly anemic so I will type out the values for you

Hemoglobin 9.4L reference range 11.5-16.0
Hematocrit 30.2L 35.0-48.0
MCV 69 L 78-100
Ferretin, Serum 3L 9-120

the following site has some quick infor mation about acceptable levels

No Wonder!

Thanks NiobeOrb--I guess I didn't realize how low mine was! (Hemoglobin was 8.2 when diagnosed last July...)

My doc. put me on slow FE (time released iron) and it got up to 10 something. I kept on, but eventually got stupid and slacked off. In the last weeks I've been so tired--Come home from school each day & sleep 'till next morning! It's no wonder it gets so low--I bleed so badly I can't go 10 min. w/o "changing". I've been bad--so started taking the iron supp's again. It's starting to help-I feel a bit better. I can't have surgery 'till August because of work.
