cervical and vaginal cancer with severe fibroids
Tamzon, sorry to hear of your situation. I know that a great deal of reconstruction can be done. I had something very minor in comparison to you. My doctor assured me that she could fix my problem since she rebuilds vaginas. She is a gyn oncologist. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

thanks for your good wishes, my thoughts are with you too.
I've been silent for all this time because I had my ops, sadly not what was expected. I ended up with a full vaginectomy and vulvectomy and just kept 1 ovary. After consultations I agreed to have my opening closed up.
Best wishes to you.
Tammy.

Tammy--
thank you for the update. I have wondered for a few months what the final outcome was for you.
I am sorry to hear that your surgery was something other than what was planned, but hope that your recovery is going well and your spirits are good.

Dear Tammy, what an adjustment and shock this must be for you. Are you involved in any counseling or a support group? It just seems like a lot to take in stride. Again, my prayers are with you.

thanks, I had an army of shrinks thrown at me after the op. They wanted to talk me out of getting closed up yet couldn't give any good reason. The matter is bad enough as I think the docs lied to me regarding loosing my desires, they are still there with nothing to release them. It's all in the future.
Thanks again.
Tammy.

Hi, Tammy, and thanks for letting us know what's happened. Sheesh! You've been through so much, but I'm hopeful that you are cancer free from now on.
Please do take advantage of any counseling or therapy that might be offered. I can't imagine how tough this adjustment will be for you.
We're here for you, Tammy.

I've been there too sis
Hi Tamzon
I just had my surgery a few months ago and am still going through the process of healing. I had a full pelvic extenteration, HS, and vaginectomy and a redirection of my large colon. I did not have reconstruction as there was not a surgeon available at the time to do it, and my cancer was spreading like crazy. I'm not sure what my plans are for the future. I could have it sewn up, but have decided to just wait and see what happens. In my case there have been some complications and I just don't want to go through another surgery. I had 3 within a months time this year and 3 blood transfusions.
It's difficult to live without these parts, I know. Desire is there, but ability is not. But where there is a will there must be a way. There are many ways of love making.
If you ever need to talk, to vent, or anything, just email me. I know you are going through alot at this time... me too.
Many hugs
Maria
