1 year and 10 months post and still achy

I also still have a dull annoying pain in my right side. I am guessing it is where my ovary was. THe pain is in the same place that it was before my TAH/BSO, it is just ALOT less noticeable.

I have doctors appt. tomorrow - my yearly and I am hoping to get some answers. I also need to go back on some type of hormones.

Husband wants sex, everyone wants me to stop being so cranky and I would just like some energy.

((((Sisters))))) I'm so sorry that so many of you are still having pain this long after your surgery

Please, do not give up and try to find out the cause of the pain. I had a TVH 3 years ago and kept my ovaries. From about the 3rd month post-op, when my ovaries "woke up", I've been having cyclic pain in my right lower abs, where my ovary is. Especially due to the cyclic nature of the pains, I was absolutely conviced it was my ovary acting up.

Turns out that isn't my ovary. It's my bowels spasming and causing this dull, deep pain. My doctor explained that it was most likely due to the bowels settling in after the surgery. When I was still having the pains 18 months after the surgery, I questionned how long this "settling" would take. And he explained that it could go on for quite some time. I also suspect that, due to my chronic IBS (guess it's always chronic ) that my bowels may be permanently "upset" by the surgery.

All this to say that there may be many, often unsuspected, causes to the pain and that we're all worth it to try and find the cause and to try and get the relief we're entitled to.

Sending lots and lots of healing s your way. And hoping that you all find answers, very soon.
