The UTI that wont go away...

Hello everyone. At my 6 week check up, I was diagnosed with a UTI, and did 7 days of antibiotics. I have been off them for about 4 days now and still feel weird. Doctor gave the go ahead for intercourse, and the pain seems worse afterwards. Planning on calling him first thing Monday morning, or shouldnt I wait? Is this common? Thanks in advance.

The UTI that wont go away...

Hi JoannaLyn,

I've been very lucky and have never had problems with UTI's, so I don't have any experience to share. I do know that they can be quite bothersome and painful, so I'm sending some s.

If your worried, I don't think there's any harm in calling your Dr. before Monday. Your Dr. may want to prescribe a different medication. On the other hand, he/she may want a urine sample to test for a UTI or to rule it out. If a UTI isn't present, then investigation into what is causing your pain is warranted.

I hope that you begin to feel much better very soon!

Best wishes and more s

The UTI that wont go away...

Hi TinaW,

Thank you for the encouraging words. I called the Dr yesterday. He gave me more antibiotics, but I still go back to see him tomorrow. I always manae to get a UTI after every surgery that I have had. I feel so bad I skipped out on going to church today, and I never do that. A week and a half after my TAH, I was back at mass. I just want to be normal again!!! Thanks again..

The UTI that wont go away...

I, too, was having UTI's after my surgery, but started drinking Northland Cranberry Juice. It's 100% juice (no added sugars) and contains 27% cranberry juice, the amount proven to provide a healthy urinary tract. (Other cranberry juices have only 6 - 7% cranberry and added sugars.) It has really helped me.

Try it! It tastes great and comes in a variety of flavors.
