Detrol questions

I had a LAVH/LSO on Oct 17th. All went pretty well except for the fact that the doc "nicked" my bladder and ended up doing additional repair not originally planned on nor expected. I came home with a foley for seven days, and everything started off well, except for bladder spasms (sp?). Yesterday was my two week check-up and doc put my on 2 mg. Detrol twice a day. Any one else taken this? What side effects, if any, did you experience? thanks for all the good info and big shoulders! thanks, Heather

Detrol questions

I was put on Detrol a few years ago before anyone accurately diagnosed my bladder frequency and pain as interstitial cystitis. I didn't like it because it made my mouth really dry. It's mainly used for older people to control incontinence. But who knows, it may work for you.
Ask about Macrodantin if there's a possibility of infection. I'm on Elmiron long-term for chronic bladder inflammation. I noticed a few bladder spasms since my hyster and this combo has helped.
Also, Urised is another bladder anesthetic. Is he going to have to repair your bladder?

Detrol questions

Thanks for responding. The doc actually did repair my bladder at the time of surgery. Apparently she knew immediately that she had nicked it, as it needed stitches. I was on Macrobid for the first ten days to help keep an infection away as I guess the longer you have a catheder in, the more likely an infection.
