Complex hyperplasia with atypia, my story

Lisa,
I really hope the Megasse works for you. I have been reading a lot and I think you have a good chance it will. A friend of my family is treating her hyperplasia for years like that avoiding a hysterectomy. Not everybody has bad side effects and even if you do it is something that you will have to do temporarily until you get better.
I think the Doctors look at the statistics when looking at women under 35 years of age with abnormal bleedings. Statistically, only very few women have hyperplasia or pre-cancer of the uterus in that age group. "Cost effectiveness worses risk" sums it up. Of cause most Doctors do their best and medicine is not an accurate science. It is really hard for us individually to accept that their could be something wrong. For me the most difficult part is, that I knew that something was wrong and nobody believed me.
Thank you for your reply. It really is good to come to this message board and read what others experience, and to ask questions.
Tinka

Complex hyperplasia with atypia, my story

First of all let me say that I am 53 and finished with having children, so that wasn't a consideration for me. I was diagnosed with chp w atypia following a d&c that was done due to heavy irregular periods. I thought this was normal for perimenopause and had been having them for some time. Fortunately, my new gyn felt I should have a d&c. When the diagnosis came back, she recommended a TVH/BSO. I was concerned about what would happen if it came back as CA so I requested a second opinion from the gyn/onc. He said that as far as he was concerned, this is a diagnosis of cancer...that the cells are the same, it is just a question of how many of them are found. He recommended an opinion from the pathologist at Johns Hopkins who is supposed to be the expert in the field of endometrial pathologist. When that came back, his diagnosis was endometrial CA. I had a TAH/BSO with staging on 3/25. The diagnosis my onc/gyn gave me was Stage Ia endo. ca. He said it was just a small area in the lining. My gyn however still says that it was hyperplasia and is precancer. I think I've come to the conclusion that it is semantics and that the oncologist looks at this as CA because the cells are the same but the gyn goes strictly by the original hyperplasia diagnosis. What is important to me is that they got it in time before it had developed into anything more serious or spread. I do not have to have any further treatment but I do need to see the gyn/onc. every 3 months for 2 years for a check up.
