We haven't done a Chat for a while.......

We used to do a Cancer chat approximately once a month. We just talked about whatever--surgery, treatments, feelings, worries, stuff like that. Kind of a "live" bonding/support kind of thing.

We haven't done a Chat for a while.......

Some days I feel angry about the fact that women have to suffer with gynecological problems and men don't.

I am angry when I talk to other women and find they look down on those of us who have HPV like we deserve this, like "that's what you get for messing around!" I am angry that when a guy gets gonnorhea or some STD and spreads it around town like peanut butter, he's a big stud.

In my town, one unsupportive word from one woman does ions of damage! I am appauled sometimes at the lack of support available for women with gynecological issues in my community. Any mistake you make is broadcast by other WOMEN who have nothing better to do than sit around and gossip about your misfortune. The rumor mill is equally as bad.

I am mad at ignorant drs that dismiss their patient's concerns because an education means "they know better." I've had my vagina for 35 years, and looked in the mirror at it thousands of times to inspect it. How many drs have been looking at one specific patient for even half that long? How many drs suffer from chronic pelvic pain or ovarian cysts or endometriosis, or have the God given intuition to know when something is amiss with MY body?

I am thankful for this site, and for the women here that care enough to support and help each other without criticism and judgement and scorn. And when I get even one kind word from someone here, I feel 100% better about myself, and much more able to deal with my changing body. And all the anger just kind of goes away.

Hugs! and lots of love. Mel

Okay, well now I feel stupid because I just spilled my guts and everyone else wants to talk live. I didn't know what a "chat" was, or that it should be live chat. Sorry. Mel
