Weight Gain? Weight Loss?

I'm new here and want to know if after you have a hyster do you lose or gain?

Also, I've had 3 c-sections and a tubal. Is the pain similar?
Thanks.

Weight Gain? Weight Loss?

Everyone is different. I have gained some due to fluid and swelling. My friend has lost few pounds! It takes while to recover, so don't expect to much with losing! ANd don't be to hard on yourself if you don't. Just rest and heel properly first. Good luck!

Weight Gain? Weight Loss?

Everyone is different, so it's hard to say if you'll lose or gain any weight. Weight loss immediately after surgery is quite common, due mainly to lack of appetite and the enormous amount of energy the body expends healing.

If you mean as a result of a hyst, in the months and years after? I am two years post op and my weight fluctuates, but is essentially the same as it was before.

I've never had a c-section, so I can't help with that question.

Best wishes!

ps: please update your profile and add your surgery date so you will be on the calendar and we can be sure to send you special good wishes as your date approaches. It also makes it easier to reply to posts by being able to see if you’re pre or post op, and by how much. Thanks!

Weight Gain? Weight Loss?

I often think it will be easier for me to lose weight once I am all healed up and have my strength back.

right now it is nearly impossible to work out, or even go for walks or play with my son due to debilitating pain. So, once I feel better, I hope to get back on a regular excercise plan.

At least that is my hope. I am placing my faith in the doctors to get rid of this chronic pain.

To update your profile: click on <control panel> which is at the top of each page, then click <update profile> Scroll down to the spot where it says surgery date, and type it in. Voila, you're done!

Thanks!

Weight Gain? Weight Loss?

I know everyone is different, but I found the pain of my TAH, RSO was less than when I had my c/sections(2) That's a question I had prior to surgery also, but I didn't find this site till the day I got home. Oh well, at least I found it! My theory is that I felt the pain of my uterus as well as the abdominal pain with the sections. When I would ride in the car post c'section, I'd die when I hit a bump, and that doesn't happen to me now. By the way, Don't forget the value of the abdominal binder--it's a life saver!
