Doctors gave me run around, too

I had cancer of uteris and cerivix, so I had radical TAH on 3/3/04 and was told they got all the cancer and would'nt need radiation. then today I got a call from oncologist saying I do need radiation. Oh brother. Whatever.

Katie and Martha,

You're both in my prayers - good luck. I agree with the previous posts. I would add that you might want to request copies of your surgical report and the pathology report. I feel better when I know the facts - regardless if they are positive or negative. Let us know when you get more info.

s and s,

Just want to agree with everyone who is recommending seeing a gynocologic oncologist (not just "an oncologist"). They are really the experts. Just keep pressing and asking questions until you get answers. Also, I found the "what would you do if I were your mother" question very helpful in dealing with both my gyn and my gyn/onc. My gyn. had recommended a TVH for what she felt was complex hyerplasia. When I asked her what she would do if I were her mother, she said she would get a 2nd opinion from a gyn/onc.! I did and ended up with a TAH/BSO with staging for Type IA CA.

I, too, live in the Chicago area and will be praying for you.
