LEEP done today

Hi again...

I had my LEEP done today. It wasn't the best time of my life, but I've gone through a lot worse. I have been having horrid cramps all afternoon. But heat seems to help. Now comes the waiting game.

Seeing as it's a holiday weekend, with Easter and all, pathology doesn't work this weekend. So, I get to wait until Wednesday or Thursday. I hate this part the most!!

Otherwise, I'm just glad this part is done. I want to thank those of you who offered your personal stories. The day wasn't as bad as I had originally thought, and much like the majority of stories you all shared with me.

I should fill you all in on the hilarious happenings at my appointment...

The first thing that happened was the really funny part. The nurse came in to prep the room. She had all the torture tools laid out on the table. She reached into the cabinet to get the iodine wash, and pulled it out. Well, she grabbed the lid, not the jar. Whoever had put the jar back hadn't screwed the lid on. The iodine jar hit the sink and sprayed all over the walls. The walls which were fairly recently re-papered. Iodine doesn't come out... Iodine also bleeds when you get it wet. So she smears the iodine all over the wall trying to get it cleaned up. The wall looks like someone rubbed baby poo all over it. She and I were laughing so hard someone came in to check on us.

Then the doc's assistant comes in to take my blood pressure. She puts the cuff on me, and then attaches the cuff to the tube leading to the thing on the wall. She starts to pump the cuff and the tube can't handle the pressure. It pops off the cuff and springs back hitting the wall, leaving a nice dent.

I asked to make sure that all of the mishaps were occurring BEFORE my procedure. They asked if I really wanted to stay in the room of doom. I began to wonder.

I have to give them credit for doing everything in their power to take my mind off my LEEP. I had a lot of laughs before the doc came in. And it gave us something to talk about when I was laying on the table.

Wow...talk about a mess. I can't help but laugh. Those poor nurses, and poor you. I probably would have bolted if all that had happened to me. :run3: I am glad your nurse had a good sense of humor though. When I had my leep done I was referring to my nurse as the witch of the west. hehehe (under my breath of course.)

Take it easy this weekend.

I had a LEEP done March 31st. While it wasn't funny it wasn't bad either. I've had worse Pap smears! I was able to read almost the whole time. The only thing that would have made it better was if they'd been on time. I had to wait 45 minutes in the waiting room.

Hello again

Just a quick note to let you all know that the results came in clear at the layer of excision. So, all is well for now. They think they got everything, but I guess the upcoming paps will answer that question.

I do want to thank you all. You've been a great comfort. I'll still be checking in. I want to know how everyone else is coming out.
