Tip - write things down

Just wanted to share my idea with everyone. Since my memory is so bad right now, I printed out a calendar (didn't want to clutter the family calendar) and I write down when I take a pain pill, it's not every day now, when I have a bm, etc...I had been feeling bad the last few days and didn't realize I was constipated. I just took a stool softener (which I wrote down) so that should help. I know some of you are keeping a journal, I'm not that with it. But I think that having it all written down can help us to see patterns or whatever. I keep it on a clip board by the couch, my new HQ, along with other paper to write notes of things to tell dh, my list of thank yous to do, etc. Just my .02...

Tip - write things down

Hi there

I too keep a record of what I take and when. Can't keep track of everything in my brainI keep a liitle journal at my bedside, (that's where I am mostly these days) Helps me to keep things organized of when I take meds and how I feel.

Medication Reminder

When my sons were taking daily seizure medication for epilepsy, I devised a simple, cheap way to keep track of their three daily "doses" as we called them.

I cut the numbers 1, 2, and 3 out of dark blue felt and glued them onto fluorescent pink squares of felt. We stuck these loud reminders on the fridge or the range hood with magnets. When we "dosed" them, we turned the number around. Last thing at night, turn them all back over for tomorrow. With two parents dosing them, it gets confusing.

When you do meds for a long time, it is frighteningly easy to forget a dose. We also got into the habit of counting the pills in the bottle and making sure we used them. For instance, you get 30 pills, and you take one pill a day. The Rx should last you 30 days. If you find leftovers after 30 days, you missed some doses.
