whatcha think...

In my previous post I mentioned that the doctor that I had that diagnosed the endo, removed my ovary, dealt with my stage III precancer, etc -- had moved to Kentucky about 5-6 years ago...

He is the one that sent me to my OB when I had my dgtr - they are both former high-ranking medical docs - and I think they hold each other in high regard...

Well, when my dr moved to KY his office accidentally took my chart with him because he was taking care of me right up til the end before his move...

I have tracked him down, and once I speak with my dr here hopefully later today, I think I will call the dr in KY and get his opinion...

The dr in Kentucky was wonderful when my mother was diagnosed with cerv cancer...I talked with him about it, and he volunteered to go talk to her in the hospital on his way home that evening -- and he did so daily for 2 mons without ever charging me or her insurance -- he truly is a compassionate person...

I will be honest with my present doctor, and let him know that I also want to talk with my previous dr and ask him to fax my test results just for an opinion...

Does this seem like a good idea to you>>>>>

it does to me ....... if you trust this other DR in Ky that much
I must say if it were me I would do just that
I feel the same way about my oB?GYN He is awesome
and if he ever left I would do the same thing if your DR now
doesnt seem to like the idea then you get your test results
and fax them to kY yourself ( JMO)
take care and keep us posted

second opinion

You are, in essence, asking for a second opinion from your old doc. Any good doc would not have a problem with that. If he does, you might want to look around for a new doc. If you feel better with having your old doc look at your chart, feel free to ask. It is your perrogative. You will have to sign a medical release form and it is possible they could charge you for the cost of sending the copy to the other doc.

I just left a msg for my old dr - he is in surgery today, and the receptionist said that he still had the chart....this way she can pull it for when he calls me back...

This way I can at least get things in motion....
