still waiting for referrals and just sayin' hi

Well if you can believe it it's been almost two months since my appt with the uro when she was to refer me to the IC specialist for the hydrodistension and the prolapse specialist for my "mystery secondary prolapse" well after a month I called and asked what was up, they never got back to me so two weeks later I saw my GP who's office called and asked formally for a "follow up" note as they'd not received a thing......it's now two weeks since that and we haven't heard back.

I truly believe you could just suffer until you know what freezes over and the dr's here in Canada just wouldn't care, I mean I started this journey with this uro over a year ago and I'm still getting the runaround and NO relief.

to top it off my bcp has stopped being shipped from the US and i"ve had to switch to something else for hrt and it's giving me migraines and chest pains......excellent progress wouldn't you say?

I miss all my sisters here and am still lurking about, I just usually don't have anything new to tell you so I don't post....please know you're in my thoughts and in my heart as always

Oh ((((Gidge)))) I do know what you mean: I've there too often It's sooooo frustrating!!!

I'm so sorry you're still waiting, and waiting, and waiting... and they're not even calling you back or acknowledging your phone calls, or your GP's phone call

I'm sorry that you've also had to switch to something else for HRT and that it's causing migraines and chest pains Have you tried posting in the about this? Someone may have some insight or pointers for you.

And you will always be our sister, in our thoughts and in our hearts, dear ((((Gidge)))).

S Gidge,

Hey Girlfriend...Like you, I haven't been posting much as there haven't been too many changes for me. Still in daily pain (being managed a bit better with the patch) but the FMS and Nerve Damage pain are out of control much of the time.

My new and improved Gyn wants to do a surgery...probably late this summer, before she goes on maternity leave. She feels that Endo is definitely still the cause of much of my pain - especially since it does appear that I'm cycling. She also thinks there could be a microscopic piece of an ovary in there...I get really bad ovulation cramps approx every other month...same thing with period cramps - they are around daily, but get worse the odd month.

I guess the latest thing for me is the fact that I've been noticing 'something' popping out, the odd time. Upon an examination by my Gyn, it appears to be a bladder prolapse! For now it is the least of my worries, but I guess if I agree to another op that they could take a look at/fix it then.

I wish I could get you into the pain clinic that I'm in. It is at one of Canada's top hospitals, and they don't make me wait very long for actual appointments. It's the waiting to see the Doc, that I can always expect on the day of the appointment. I always bring a good book or magazine for the 1-3 hour wait that I know will be in store. It seems to be a small price to pay for excellent medical care...and I so wish you could get in there...

What can I say...except we care about you ...and that I will keep you in my prayers. I've been on this blasted road for over 3 1/2 years (many longer like you, Kim, Sheri and sooo many more). Some days it is really hard to see an end to all of this. I just try to take it day by day...with hope, and many prayers that one day we'll all find our way off of this road...

I'm thinking of you sweetie....Sending many soothing S

Hey Gidge:

s

I am truly sorry to hear that things are not going better for you. Gosh, everytime I read about the delays faced in Canada, it just makes me Not saying things are perfect down here, just speedier.

Keep us posted!!!

oh so nice to hear from you all

I think we all make the mistake of staying away because things are so bad and we don't want to whine about the same old thing but then we forget what "the road" is there for....to give us support and share thoughts while we're going through this! I feel better just knowing that my sisters are still out there for me!

Jude sorry to hear you're still going thru it too dear sis.....although sounds like this GYn is proactive and will likely get to the bottom of things for you......interesting that she will admit to the fact you are still cycling (I swear I am) without ovaries, my GP laughs and says he figures I have an extra ovary in my back pocket somewhere but no one is taking me seriously......I think they think I should just stay on antinflammatories and tylenol 3 for the rest of my life and feel like crap

I'm going to try and see my GP this week or next, to top it off work is an absolute nightmare stress wise and I think my boss is trying to get rid of me.....so I'm trying to make my appts after work hours if I can but someone needs to get this ball rollling for me

thanks for being there girls, gosh I've missed you all! 's!

Dear ((Gidge))

I'm sorry you are still waiting... and not making any progress on your problems. I hope things get better soon.

thanks Sarah, you too

I just find it amazing that dr's can drop the ball so badly and nothing happens to them.....it is no wonder to me after the last 5yrs of dealing with this kind of treatment that people do die do to dr's not following through...feel like writing a book or something, it just doesn't seem right!

((((Gidge)))) I do hope that you can get in to see your GP next week and that he can find out about what's going on with the surgery So sorry you're also having problems at work. I know how hard it must be to keep on trucking when you're in so much discomfort And I know all about the waiting game: went to my doctor in late March because of a possible problem with the sacro-illiac muscle. Still haven't heard from her. There are days where I wonder if I will fall when I step on my right leg... and other times I have attrocious pains when I sit down or when I bend (providing I can bend). I guess I'll have to give her a call... again <sigh>

(((((Jude)))))) That clinic you're in sounds simple awesome. I'm so happy you got in and that they're helping you So sorry that you're still travelling the road. Hopefully, if your doctor performs this surgery it will be a step in the right direction towards less pain.

Hope you girls will keep posting: we miss you

always nice to be missed Dany

Speaking of falling down I saw an orthopedic surgeon months ago because my left knee keeps giving out on me (they fixed it about 5yrs ago) he never examined my knee just looked at it visually and looked at my notes from 5yrs ago and said "we'll do an MRI" and it's supposed to be on the urgent list and that was ages ago.....last night I"m running for the bus....my knee gives out and I fall flat on my face, scraping the crap out of my knees and my hands......and of course no word on the MRI.....he saw me all for a total of like 3 minutes

somedays it just seems like it would be easier to give up ya know? Thanks for being there, it means the world!
