Wink - "The Swan" anyone? "The Swan" anyone?

Sheri, you sound like a fabulously healthy (mentally) person. I agree with you totally. I think people like you can make a positive difference in our world.

"The Swan" anyone?

I really think that the show The Swan sends out the wrong message. In my opinion, the women on the show were not "ugly" to begin with. Yes, they had low self esteem problems, but they did not have deformities in their outward appearances. Counseling, intensive counseling might have helped these women...maybe a little makeup and haircuts, but not the endless plastic surgeries that they all had to endure.

In the end, I thought they all looked so "fake" looking. Not natural at all...and, they all had that long, long hair. To me, they just looked like a bunch of barbie dolls.

"The Swan" anyone?

Personally I find the whole concept very disturbing. I can understand why allycat1964 went through her surgery, I have a big nose and was teased but fortunately never to the degree ally was.
I think our country focuses too much on the "outside" and not enough on the "inside". What kind of message are we sending to our kids, especially young girls.
Beauty is NOT skin deep.
