Maria Coo Update 21 April

Hello everyone, this just in from Adrie!!

I'll check tomorrow and pass on any messages you write !
Hi Cheryl and Sisters,

Here is another update again from me. Although Maria wants to write something herself every day, it is still very difficult for her to really do it. So you and I were waiting and waiting for it.
I am taking over now.

Greetings and health for you all from Maria and me.
Since I don't know how much you are informed by Maria, I will just start somewhere.
Maria is still in the hospital, but doctors are talking of setting her free. Hooray ! Not sure yet when but probably next week.
There were major complications as you know about leaking urine. The doctors found out (much too late) by all kind of scans, that one of the ureters was damaged and leaking. So they had to try to find the exact place. By endoscopy through the blatter they could not reach the place. Then first they tried with a drain (catheter) in the right kidney to keep the urine out of the ureter. Which did not work because the drain came loose. A new drain was placed, did not work eather. You know healthy kidneys don't like to have a drain in them.
Finally they put last week a metal wire through the kidney in the ureter. Purpose to let grow healthy tissue around it and close the leaking hole. And it worked !
No leaking anymore and urine of the right kidney is running off through the kidney drain as the urine from the left kidney is still leaving the usual spot, the blatter.
So my Maria now has two bags. I suppose Maria needs baggy trousers now.
Keeping up hope and with the expected minor mental setbacks Maria is doing quite well, due to the circumstances.
Maria is so happy not to have the leaking anymore and of course leaving the hosital soon after such a long stay (today 67 days). She is really tired of the hospital now.
Spring is bursting out over here in Holland. And Maria can still catch a part of it.

Let's keep in mind: every day Better and Better.

Be blessed,

Hi Maria,

This all sounds very positive to me too. And getting out of the hospital next week....welll, what more could you ask for.

Spring is also blooming all over here on Long Island in NY so if you miss it in Holland you will have to come here for a visit...LOL

Be Well.

This is good news that you may be getting out of the hospital soon. I'll bet that'll be a very happy day. Now may these last things clear up and may you go home feeling well and best of all cancer free!!!!

A warm hello to Maria and Adrie! So glad to hear, Maria, that you are almost going home, ready to enjoy spring in all its glory, and how magnificent it will be from the windows of your own home instead of the hospital!! I pray that you will continue to heal well and progress towards a total recovery, with no further cancer. You have been through the fire! May the Lord hold you very close to His heart.

Sending a big, gentle across Canada and the Atlantic

Maria and Adrie--

So glad that the light is finally shining at the end of this long, long tunnel of a hospital stay.

Every time I see tulips blooming here, I think of you. Hopefully you'll have the rest of spring, and a beautiful summer, to enjoy together as Maria continues to make progress.

All the best--so happy for both of you!

Maria Coo Update 21 April

Maria and Adrie, I was so glad to hear Maria's hospital days are almost numbered. Home sweet home and probably in just a week. That is such wonderful news. It will be so good for you to be able to enjoy the remaining spring together as well as a beautiful summer season by which time Maria hopefully will be able to take walks, etc. with you as she moves toward full recovery.
I continue to pray that Maria will make steady progress -better and better each day - and that the Lord will take good care of the both of you. Blessings and s, peggiesue
