Okay...so is/was your jelly belly a "horror" or a "comedy" type of thing for you??

Me???? Kind of both. I am a Stomach Crunch Queen at the gym. When - of course I am at the gym. Which is NOT right now. Okay, that is another subject.

Anyway, my jelly belly right after surgery looked like someone had taken a pregnant "belly latex cast" and stuck it to my stomach. It did not look real!!!

And the tight-fit feeling with clothes. One Hyster Sister advised wearing men's pajama bottoms. She goes to the "head of the class" with that suggestion.

Now - 10 days post op - my jelly belly is a lot better. Looks like I just ate a big meal. Better AND not the Stomach Crunch Queen yet.

What are your thoughts on this post-op dilemma??? How are you getting by?? Any useful tips??

I look more pregnant than my pregnant daughter. LOL Hope this thing goes away soon, but really don't think so for a while.

The for me was just part of the healing process. I wore capri sweats with a draw-string waist for the first 6-8 weeks after surgery. By 4-5 months post-op my belly was back to "normal"

I remember going to the local track to exercise at about 5 wks. post op. I had lost weight actually, except for and there was an acquaintance of mine who just looked sweetly at me and smiled that knowing smile. I just knew she thought I was pregnant, lol! How ironic right? My swelly belly went down eventually, but it would appear at the most inopportune times (at the beach, for instance). As Lynn said, it is part of the healing process, not much you can do about it. s

Love the swelly belly, jelly belly comments. I looked 6 months pregnant before my TAH, now I look 8 months. I love those elastic pants, only problem is they are not giving much support, so it is all hanging out!!! Well, I know this is normal., and I am not pregnant, and this too shall pass. If it doesn't pass, I may just have to go to the maternity clothes section!
