Made my Dr.'s Appointment

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to say "thank you" for all the support that I got a couple of weeks ago. I made an appointment to see my dr. this thursday so I'm excited about that. Finally, maybe I can get answers. The stress is hard right now, hubby is leaving in about 3 weeks for 45 days. He's been my rock for the past 2 years since my surgery and I'm stressed. But I know all will be fine.
I'm hoping someone can give me information on this. There used to be a link on hystersisters that you could look at a Dr's history. If someone remembers this and if it's still on this website, can you send me the link or let me know where I can find it? I would appreciate it very much.
This Thursday when I go to the Dr's. office, I'm going to be prepared. I'm writing down everything plus a list of my medication that I'm taking.
Open for suggestions on everything.

Take care, Tammy

Made my Dr.'s Appointment

I would try searching on the internet for the State Board of Medical Examiners in your state. Information is available on doctors in Texas that way. You can see where they went to school and where they did their residency and if they have had a lot of malpractice suits, board actions, or license issues.

I find the best people to ask about a doctor is the nurses at the hospital where he/she works. Nurses are pretty loose lipped about the bad doctors when asked - they get really tired of covering for the bad ones. If you know a nurse, ask him/her.

I hope you have a great, productive appointment with your doctor! Sounds like you are well prepared and that usually gets things off to a great start.
