Pelvis Area as big as a softball...HERE WE GO AGAIN

Hi Sisters,
Sometimes I think this is all a BAD dream. Some of you may remember my last posts (OK, infection wins...I & II) wITHOUT YOU GUYS, THEY WOULD HAVE ALREADY ADMITTED ME TO THE LOONEY BIN!! I do all my worrying on here so that I don't have to worry my DH unnecessarily.
My OB GYN has reopened my incision 3 different times to get rid of infection. This has caused a problem bcs it has three different healing rates going on and it's so jagged, my home health nurses don't think it will EVER close on it's own. My wound specialist called my OB GYN yesterday bcs she could tell things were gettng bad again. She told my DD that it needed to be opened up bcs at this point, it won't heal. She tried to be clear that there are 2 NEW, CLOSED pockets of infection that need to be opened. She told my DR that they really needed to go in open me up and clean everything out of there.

My OB GYN moved quickly on this and sent me to a surgeon right away. Now, since I have a new DR, he wants to watch it till next monday!!! He said he might have to put me to sleep and go back in, but he wasn't sure yet. He's a surgeon, not an infectious disease dr like I had previously thought. I hope he knows what he's doing...he even told me to take lots of showers....3 X a day at least. Seems strange to me since my wound is all packed up. UGH!
My pelvis area is getting purple again, looks like I'm carrying a softball in there and hurts worse than ever before. I can not imagine waiting till mon to think about surgery... even I KNOW it needs to be opened up. My problem is this new surgeon... I asked him yesterday in EVERY way I knew how, to PLEASE do surgery now, to get things moving along. He still wants to wait. My joints where my legs meet my torso hurt likie crazy.
Do you all think I will be ok to wait? I really really really don't want to get any sicker. My poor kids and hubby have been through enough...they just want their healthy mom back.
Please write if you have any suggestions...looks like I once again got slow moving Drs. UGH!
I feel like giving up

I would not wait. I would call this doctor back and tell him what is going on. I hate it that you have had such a horrible experience.

Oh, ginny, you really have had a rough deal of it please ring him back, and just tell him that you feel awful, and that monday is too long away, you have been like this for weeks now. They should have kept you in when they had you on antibiotics, and not let you leave until you were well on the mend.

Please take care, and SHOUT for some help, how are you ever going to get well otherwise??

s
from all your sisters!

You have so been in my thoughts and prayers but I have not posted to you because I know you are going through so much.

I hope and pray health/healing is on the way to you.

I think you should call him back and try to see if he won't MOVE on this now! He is not the one with the infection inside his wound. You are!

Praying for you.............

Hi Sisters,
I have just put a call in, but the dr is gone for the day. I hope he will be back tomorrow morning so I can speak with him.
My fear is that I don't want to make my dr :burning: mad.
If I'm sure that my infection will do exactly like last time, then I know it's not going to enter my other organs in the next day or two. My fear is that this could turn into something that never needed to happen...
UGH! We all should be dr's by the time we've been through all this! We sure know morew than the DRs.

Thanks for the notes...dear sweet sisters. I am so very grateful to have all of you to help me. Here's a smooch!!
Thanks for caring!

update

Hi!
I just got a call form my wound care specialist. Can you believe she has been trying to reach new my dr since yesterday...he has not yet returned her call. She said she left 2 messages today so far... I'm sure he won't call me back if he's not even calling her back.
Yesterday he said he DEFINITELY wanted to change the orders with the home health nurses...still hasn't even done that yet... I think i have a dud for a dr.
I am sooooooooooo angry that he's giving my nurses the run around. makes me want to just scream!!!!!!!!

I am not up for chasing a dr... there's too many of them out there to wait for one who won't call back.
Thanks for letting me vent.

infection from hell

Ginny,

Did your surgeon say why he wanted to wait this out? When and if you do get ahold of him I would ask that first. When has any infection gotten better with a wait and see attitude. What is the reason for the waiting does he really believe it is going to get better after all this time. Does he know the whole story from the beginning and the date that surgery first occured. This should not be happening to anyone this day in age with all the modern miracles of science. Medicine is supposed to help people. My prayers are with you.

Dear Ginny,

I'm so sorry that this nightmare continues for you. Have you considered calling your OB GYN.....she sent you to the new Dr and I think should know what's going on. You really need to get help fast before this does turn very ugly ! It scares me that you have the joint pain in your hips ! My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you !!! Lots of love and many hugs !!

Beth
