Anyone exp. nerve trama?

After I had my abdominal hysterectomy my left leg didn't work like it used to work. The Oncologist told me that sometimes during lymph node removal you can have some nerve tissue trauma - not damage and it always gets better in time. One week and one day post op today and I'm still having some trouble with it, some better though since surgery. Has anyone else experianced this?

Anyone exp. nerve trama?

Nerves take forever to heal! I had neuropathy after chemo and I read that it can take up to a year and a half for nerves to heal. My doctor recommended that I take 50 mg of B2, B6, and B12, to speed nerve healing. After a few weeks on those vitamins I noticed a big difference but I still have the neuropathy at the end of the day in both of my feet. However, it is not incapacitating. I finished treatment July '03. So hang in there, it will slowly get better.

Anyone exp. nerve trama?

Hi Donna,

Yes, I had lymph nodes removed from my right groin and after surgery I had some trouble with my right leg. It lasted quite some time. Maybe even months. It was one of those things that gradually got better. I still have a numb spot on the top of my thigh. I had surgery 03/03/2003,so it does take some time. Good luck and I hope it does not take too long.

Yup, I had my left obdurator nerve stunned during my surgery, couldn't move my left leg for about a week. I did physical therapy and within a month I was all better! Hope you are feeling better soon!
