Got results from US

Well I had my US yesterday. That was an experience in itself. I had an AUS and then a VUS. Then after getting dressed was asked to let them do another VUS with doctor in the room. Today while at work I got a call from doctors office and was asked to come in today instead of Monday. They had me scared to death. I went to the Dr. and he told me that I had a dermoid on my ovarie about 6+ cm and he was afraid of it ruptureing. They also found some spots on my uterus but he didnt seemed to concerned about them since it was coming out anyways. I have medicade (state insurance) which requires a thirty day approval periad unless it was an emergency. He said he was writing this one up as an emergency because he feels it should be done within the next couple weeks. So I should know my surgery date by tuesday. I was just wondering what the average stay for most people was in the hospital after having a TAH plus ovarie and tube removed.
Thanks for listening.

It is pretty typical after a TAH/BSO to be in the hospital for 2 nights.

Recovery time is about 6-8 weeks.

Hey Donut lady,
I basically have the same thing going on with what they believe to be dermal cysts on my ovaries. The one on my left ovary was 12x8x9 cm when I had my ultra sound last Thursday. It feels larger today. Do you all think they expand when you are closer to your period?

I am getting very, very uncomfy. I had to wear a dress to work today so I wouldn't have anything around my mid section. You know it must be bad!!

I feel for you after your doctor experience. I would have been beside myself if the doctor had called me in special like they did you. Glad the news wasn't that bad, though it is subjective. I guess. I always figure things could be worse.

Let us know when your surgery is scheduled. I go Wednesday for my TAH, not soon enough!

Take Care and best wishes
