Adhesion nightmare

Hi bioblazer,

Sounds like the same as me. Whenever I overdo it the pain gets a lot worse quickly. I hope this approach works out for you.

Good luck on the 20th and let me and the rest of the pack here know how it goes.

Thank you and take care,

SueF

back again with good news!

Hi hystersisters,

Since I last wrote re: the adhesion problem I've had a series of acupunture treatments with electrical stimulation of the needles for it (a gentle pulsating sensation - no pain involved).

So far, it has been four treatments. After the last treatment a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the pain from the adhesion was gone the next day! So, I am not considering anymore surgery (whew!).

Unfortunately, the acupuncturist is away until the 1st of July but I'll be going back at that time.

I noticed today I am getting some more pulling pains in the spot where the adhesion is located, but it is not as severe as it was when it first began and recurred.

I've also changed my diet and I'm not eating any more loads of nuts as apparently they are very difficult to digest (so says the acupuncturist). I've also changed pain medication as well to one that doesn't cause as much constipation (still by enemy at almost 7 mos. post-op).

The incision is still very ugly and hard. It hurts when my cat trys to press his paws on it. I was hoping it would be all better now, but I can still see I have more recovery in front of me.

Just thought I'd bring this topic back just in case others out there have access to acupunture. Luckily, my insurance is paying for it for the time being anyway but I don't think it is horrifically expensive (maybe $70 or $80 a treatment).

Take care everyone and I hope you are all recovering as well. Thanks again!

SueF
