Freaked about chemo

Hi Claudia,

I also had the same treatment you will be having and I was also petrified. However, I was also determined to be strong and beat this thing.

Karenann gave you lots of wonderful advice, as usual.

Althought chemo effects everyone in different ways, you WILL be able to do everything you want. My oncologist told me that the patients that do the best on chemo are the ones that live their normal lives while undergoing treatment. So that is exactly what I did. My one and only restriction was to try and stay out of the sun and to put on sunscreen if I will be in the sun.

Now lets see.....I would have my treatments on a Thursday, go to work on Friday, Saturday and Sunday were my "bone aching" days and Monday I was good as new again.

I worked thru all my treatments in a very germy place (I am a Pre-K teacher). I did everything I wanted to do including having the time of my life at my oldest son's wedding.

Just be strong and you will get thru this with all of our help.
