I need to vent............ Sorry

TGalvin...I am so very sorry that you are going through this. I too have been told by a couple of Dr's that it is impossible for me to be in pain, because there is nothing left inside of me to hurt :burning: I wonder if they know the damage this does to our already fragile psyche? On those occasions I have left their offices in tears. I tried to tell them that the pain was the same, as before the hyst. I actually wrote a letter to one Dr's office and was treated very well on my next visit (it was his assistant who made these horrible statements and I never had to deal with him again). Let's face it, we all know our bodies best.

I'm not familiar with your situation with having to see a military dr. But I hope that you are able to see another Doc very soon. The other ((((sisters)))) have already given you some wonderful advice. I just wanted to pop in to send you some ((((((Hugs)))))) and to say that I can empathize with you.

It took me approx 8 months to find a doc who believed in my pain. I believe she saved me from having a nervous breakdown. She did a lap and found quite a bit of extensive Endo. This all happened a couple of years ago. Since then, I am in an excellent pain clinic. I have met once with a new Gyn who wants to do another lap, but she is going on maternity leave so I don't know when this will happen. The fact of the matter is that Endo can come back following a complete hyst. with removal of ovaries.

While I am far from being 'pain free' I can at least function (kind of) some days - enough to spend part of the day in the garden with dh...or do some laundry. I have to limit my activities and it has taken a toll on many relationships with family and friends. While I have been on this road, I have learned that taking care of myself is paramount. It was the toughest lesson for me, as I am usually the caregiver for my siblings, friends etc.

Please let us know how you make out...I am so very sorry that you are in pain and not getting proper medical care, please know that there are many sisters here who understand S S
