2 Personal Questions

I am having a TVH on Monday.
1. Are they going to shave me? Is that routine or does it vary by hospital and Doc? I forgot to ask the preop lady.
2. Can I brush my teeth the morning of the surgery? Or is that considered drinking liquids?
I know these are silly questions, but I have only hours to go and these questions are eating at me.
take care

Some doctors shave, some don't. I was not shaved.

I was allowed to brush my teeth and rinse my mouth - spit out the water, don't swallow.

Good luck with surgery!

The shaving thing, well they don't like for you to do it only because if you would cut yourself. I had a TAH so I know they would have had to be shaven. I opted for a brazilan binki wax.
With brushing your teeth, you can brush your teeth. Just don't swallow any water or toothpaste. I dont' know if they would have to shave you or not with a TVH.

Hope this helps Good luck on your surgery.

you'll be in my ers.

I had a TAH and was only shaved about an inch off the top. Some doctors perfer a full shave, some just partial, some not at all. Whatever you do though, don't take it on yourself to shave on your own. Surgeries have been cancelled because of that.
