Home from Castle..What a trip

Hi all I am home. I got home around 11:30 this am. Surgery went great. Dr was surprised, very minmal bleeding and everything came easily out (Probably since it was already coming out) no surprise.

I was in recovery at 8:30,but due to no rooms, I did not get a room untill 12:30.

And the care was terrible. I will tell about that later. I had a lot of pain, back and front and nothing they gave me seemed to help until I started asking for Toradol.

I will write more when I can, right now I am in a whole lot of pain and I am gonna take some pain meds and go to bed...OH I have called the Dr to call me in a stool softener, I am constipated. Just out of the blue, did it hurt anyone to pass gas. I hurt really bad in my lower pelvic region and it hurts to pass gass.

Thanks to everyone and I will post more later as I can sit up better.

Home from Castle..What a trip

Welcome home Kim, and yes.... unfortunately it does hurt to pass gas. The first few days are the worst.

many ladies State-side have used the product Gas-x and it seems to have helped.

I used a herbal product that was fennel and carbon capsules and it worked for me.

good luck - remember to rest lots, take little walks around the house (they'll help with getting rid of the gas) - and drink lots of water!!

Home from Castle..What a trip

Hi Kim! Glad you are back home! The gas and constipation has been the worst thing of all of this. I am 6 days post op today and had to do a fleet at the hospital which really didnt help, I just blew up again..and stayed blown up. By yesterday it was cutting my breath off when it would move down to come out(if I was that lucky) it hurt so bad. I did the fleet thing again yesterday and even though I stayed blown up all day yesterday and in pain, this morning I went on my own and am much better. Now that my bowels seem to be awake I am not blowing up like that. But it still hurts to go, or to have gas come out, but nothing compared to the last 4 or 5 days. I think htis will hopefully be the last day of bowel disturbance. I swear it is worse than the incision or anything else to me.
