The length of stay tends to vary, depending on your doctor, hospital, insurance, condition, age, etc. The usual length of time is 3 to 4 nights.

I had a TAH two years ago with no complications and was in the hospital from Thursday morning until Sunday afternoon. I probably could have gone home on Saturday, but was glad for the extra day because when I did go home, I felt more alert and human.

Best wishes and s,

Hi august 42!

There are so many factors that come into play in determining the length of your hospitalization, such as the condition/disease for which you are having the hyst, your general health, age, etc. I spent three nights in the hospital after my TAH/BSO which is exactly what my doctor told me beforehand. From what I've heard from the Sisters here, 2-3 days seems to be the average stay, provided that your procedure winds up complication-free.

In order to help us to help you, may I suggest that you edit your profile to include your occupation, city of residence, etc. Thanks, and best wishes to you!

hospital stay

Hi, I had a tah/bso almost 2 years ago now. I was pre approved for 2 -3 days and did end up staying for 3 1/2 days , mainly because I had a reaction to morphine. I've heard from others that the stays range from 1 - 5 days usually, depending on the type of surgery, physical condition, dr and location.

Best wishes
