Had appointment with gyn today--some concerns

Hi, Girls! I went to see my gyn today for a semi-annual visit (well, I was supposed to be graduating to semi-annual, but after today, I'm not sure that will happen). He found a couple of concerning spots, so now I'll be returning for a colposcopy and a biopsy of at least one of those areas. I'm going on vacation soon, so I scheduled it for after I get back. Hopefully, I can forget about it and enjoy myself with my family.

I'm so unhappy! It's not fair ! I've had far too many procedures down there and am not looking forward to another one. I just feel like it's never going to end--that something is going to just keep popping up that needs to be checked, removed, whatever. I think that since I'm now 3 years out I was just kind of hoping that it was all over. But my doc kindly reminded me that it will probably never be over for me. Even at the time of my surgery they were not able to get clean margins on my vaginal wall, so it's quite likely that I'll continue to have recurrences (which will hopefully always be caught early). It's so frustrating!

I know! I know! Now it sounds like I'm "wasting a good panic" (thanks Ellen!). In truth, I feel optimistic about this situation, but I am totally not looking forward to more biopsies--they hurt!

Can you spare a hug? Thanks!

Here's a hug!

I am so sorry you are having more trouble...it must feel neverending and as you said very unfair...just know that I and everyone else here is thinking about you and praying for you for strength to get through this next round of tests...lots and lots of
s and good wishes! And try to enjoy your vacation! You and your family need those times away to store up energy for the stuff that happens in between! Take care! Sharon

I am so sorry to hear about the need for you to have a colposcopy and the biopsy. However, as you point out, if we are faithful to doing our follow up appts., with our doctors, any problems can be caught early enough. That said, we go through so many things - proecedures/ops. etc., that to learn that more are required should not make us lose faith, but some big sighs are in order! You are such a positive image to me, and one of strength.

And some big s from me

Jeanine I am sorry that you are having to go throught this yet again. Enjoy your vacation knowing that you have caught whatever it is very early. Things are definitely treatable when caught early.

Try and get it off your mind to enjoy your trip ...

I wanted to get my last surgery over with before my sons graduation thinking the waiting would drive me nuts. The only thing is it turned out to be an open proceedure and quite extensive. I sat through his graduation (1 wk out of hospital) with a pillow on my tummy and was so sore. I think you are wise to enjoy the trip! I will pray that this is not cancer. Good luck and keep us posted!

Oh Jeanine I'm Sorry

You didn't have an "all clear" exam. Enjoy that vacation and then they'll take a look at this. I know you're sick of biopsies, etc., as we're all sick of visits, chemo, etc. But they'll tell the tale and because you've been so careful to go regularly, they're on whatever this is early.

I am going to start charging $1 for each "never waste a good panic" quote around here so I can get rich. LOL. But it's tru--enjoy vacation and there'll be no panic reason when you get back.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read your thread title---I'm so sorry!

But hopefully it's either not cancer at all, or caught early if it is...and those frequent checkups, annoying as they are, help with that.

Please enjoy that trip, live in the moment---it's all there is, anyway!---and keep us posted on how things are.

And please vent whenever you need to, because you are right, it's NOT fair.

All the best.

I'm so sorry this has cropped up--I can fully empathize with the frustration you feel when you're just about to graduate to the next level--semi-annual visists--and it gets yanked away from you. Sigh....

I'm sending hugs and prayers your way. Enjoy your vacation and try not to think about this! You've caught it early, and that makes all the difference.

I'm so sorry you didn't get good news today. I really know how you feel. Just when you think you have this cancer creature licked, he returns and sticks his tongue out at us.

Please have a wonderful vacation. Try not to think too much about this.

Remember all the hystersisters will be holding your hand durring the biopsy when you get back.

Huge cyber hugs for you.
