riverbend, or anyone else who has used chemo cream, did you get sores? I have sores in my vagina from the cream. Now the cream really burns. I am trying to continue this but I don't know. I am sick to my stomach the next day but not too bad. I go to the doctor in two weeks but I may call for a sooner appointment.

Hurriedh,
As for the sores, I just remember burning and feeling stiff inside, I do know I was very careful not to let any leak out when I went to bed, proped pillows to keep me from tossing and turning. I went back and read some letters Sandie sent me, she said after about the 7th week, it was pretty much numb and didn't hurt as bad as it had. Also was reminded of the headaches that we both had.
I have to wonder with you being post radiation, if that isn't making it worse. That tissue in there is already burnt and thin, this couldn't be helping. I don't want to add to your worries, but as I have found out the hard way, if you get an ulcer in irradiated tissue, it doesn't heal. At least mine hasn't. I would be calling the dr. about the sores.

thoughts

hurriedh,
when I came across your posting, I started to cry. What's happening to you right now is one of my worst fears with all of this. I'm so sorry for what you have to go through. I remember with my chemo thinking that I couldn't let them put the IV into me even one more time because I felt so rotten...I can't imagine having to put the cream in if it's causing you so much discomfort. I'm having some sort of vaginal issues (yeast infections they think) that is irritating enough....I can only barely imagine how you feel. Try to focus on the end result to get you through this rough patch.

laser and creme who knew

I had the colpocopy done last wed and it was terrible i don't feel like a baby but it was pretty unbearable i was offered novicaine but when they said they do the numbing by needle in the vagina i said i would go without again it was awful now i have to wait 14 days for results you never know if the dr is telling the truth or what but she said i would be find but she said that when i had the pap also she did the whole exam thing again after the col what a pleasure even through it had been done 3 weeks prior now i'm hearing about this creme thing i can't believe it laser must be fun too do they numb you or what what i can't believe is i was stage1 gr 2 they even put the radiation thing in my hands of course they told me that my chances of the cancer not coming back would be inproved of course they don't tell you all the rest lesion having to go to the bathroom passing gas thank god i work from home i know a lady friend who won't even go to friends houses because of the bathroom issue she says she never leaves have without her own personal air spray so she doesn't smell up someone else's bathroom of course we all know are friends love us and don't mind all the bother but i still can't believe this wasn't told to me all the things that could happen and believe it or not when i spoke to the radiation doc about this she said it might get better and to change my diet i don't know what to change it to no food.....this whole thing does change your life and i know the whole thing about one day at a time and thank god for today and it could be worse and i think people in our shoes do make the most of life and do put on a happy face and try to feel hopeful and think good thoughts but the journey isn't easy thanks for all the emails and if any one knows more or if they have anything to add please do also i have to go for a colosopy because the doc also said i am at a high rick of getting that kind of cancer that should be fun too however i just saw on tv that if you take colesterel lowering drugs which i do that this seems to protect people
