I had the best SURPRISE!

Oh I just had to share. Here I am feeling down and all and tonight at 8:00 someone pulled up. We had no idea who it was as we did not recognize the car. Well my dh went to the door, since I was holding Derrick and in walks my brother (who I have not seen since Christmas, he lives a little ways away, my sil (whom I adore), one of my nephews and his girlfriend. MY brother just came up to me and hugged me and I just cried on his shoulder.

We do not see them too much as he does not have a real good relationship with our parents. I talk to him usually once a month on the phone, but they have such money problems, there phone has been disconnected for about 2 months. I had to write him to tell him about my surgery.

MY brother and I are the closet of all my siblings and just by him visiting, brighten my day. They just left a little while ago and I am still excited.

It is amazing how the little things that can help you cheer up. I mean I have not had any vistors really other than my SS class who are delivering food and usually I am asleep when they come. SO this was just wonderful.

Also we are having a cookput with some friends and theyare coming over to watch the race. It will most likely be me, my dh and about 4 or 5 other guys, as the women they are married to 1. do not like races 2. are not socialable and 3. are just strange. BUt that is ok, cause I get along with those guys better anyway. We have a pool table and usually have get togethers every weekend. I am usually the only girl. Well we get in poll tournaments and usually I am winning (great pool player, been playing for years) well before my surgery, we had one and one of the guys little boys was here, he is 8 and he said dad you are getting beat by a girl and he said, sone, she aint no ordinary girl. They all love me and are always here for me if I need something nad my Dh is not home. I am actually looking forward to this.

Anyway, this is the best I have felt (emotional, normal) since my surgery and I just wanted to share and hope I continue to feel this way.

Surprise

Wow what a great surprise. Im sorry your brother is in financial trouble but found the money to travel to see you at 2 bucks a gallon for the gas. He is a special guy it sounds like. Im not a race fan but i will sit and watch football i was raised a tom boy my dad had two girls and nobody to take fishing so i went along most of the time. (peeing in a coffee can mind you). I usually get along with men better than women although i have found a nice group of women in my husbands Masonic and Shriner groups and we get along well. Have a good time tomarrow with the guys and sit back and rest no waiting on them let them wait on you this year!!!!!!!!!!
Have a speedy recovery.

I know what you mean. I was/am a tomboy. I hunt and fish and atvs and all that. And I do get long better with the guys than the gals.

Hey party girl ...

I was soooo glad to read your post. I have been concerned about you. Now thanks to your brother and some really nice friends you are on an upswing. I hope that you feel up to playing pool and once again show your dominance as the pool shark! Glad you took the time to post and enjoy the moment. It is amazing what it takes to remind us who we really are.

MJ
