hrt called C.E.S...anyone on it???

Hey all. I've tried the search engine for the last 3 days, and even though my cookies are enabled, it says I am restricted from hoping I can get some help here.

I had my TAH & SP on 3-25-04. Everything is going well, except for swellly belly hell, weight gain and HOT FLASHES. I am a freakin' furnace.

I am on a low dose of hrt. It's called C.E.S (0.3mg daily). I've been on it since April 27th and so far it is not helping.

On the printed out form with the meds, it states that one of the more common side effects are: (rapid) weight gain. EEK!!!

Has anyone ever used this hrt? Did y'all gain a load of weight? Did it help with flashes? I would love to learn of any and all experiences. I have an appt with my gyno on June 14th to discuss an increase or another HRT that does not cause so much gain.

I also have PCOS and I am Insulin Resistant, so I am predisposed to gain to begin with, plus I am "almost" recovered from car accident it's been a bad year. LOL I am up already 62 lbs since Dec-03. I am concerned regarding more weight, as y'all can imagine. I would like to lose again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you've not had a good year!

C.E.S. is a type of conjugated estrogen. There are women here who use them. The common brands are Premarin and Cenestin.
Here's a link to some information about conjugated estrogens:

Have you contacted your doctor to let him/her know you aren't doing well on your HRT? It may be that you need to have the dose tweaked to get your hot flashes under control.

There have been a lot of discussions about weight gain and HRT. If you do a search on this site using "weight" or "weight gain" as your search words you'll be able to read what other women have experienced.
