Well, I am 3.5 weeks post-op from my TVH with right falopian tube removed. I had a hemorrhaging ovarian cyst that is working its way back to normal, so they left them.

I have had the most protruded belly for a long time now - my friend calls it my "soccer ball". Anyway, I have been telling everyone for a while that I always felt bloated and my stomach was hard and round. Since surgery, I have lost a little weight. My measurements are all the same as prior to surgery EXCEPT I lost 2 inches around my stomach. YEAH! I almost look normal now. I am overweight, but the hard tummy just added to my lovely appearance. My doc said sometimes when your uterus and ovaries are swollen, it will push behind the abdominal walls and make the stomach protrude. This was a great side effect! Good luck to all!

Hi, glad to hear that your recovery is going well. Surprised they left the cyst though.

Good news about the reducing waist line. I am over weight too but I know this tummy is way more than that.

Had pre op this morning and the doctor said 'yes your uterus is enlarged' Duh!. I look forward to at least 2 inches difference.

Yes, they left my left ovary because they said the tissue was healthy and that it was trying to repair itself. I don't know if I am happy they left it. Apparently they stitched over it inside because that cramp on the left ovary area is still there. I have had such a miraculous recovery, however, I can't complain. I actually went and sat through 3 hours of Bingo the day after I left the hospital (5 days post op). Of course, that may be what has slowed me down now. I forget and lift things or bend wrong and you feel it very quickly! Ouch!
