Got My Test Results Back. Now What?
Hi, I posted on here quite a few times about what is going on. One I had a sonogram to check what my doctor thought was a ovarian cyst. It turns out to be my fallopian tube is enlarged to 5 cm and she is concerned but not to much. SHe is sending me to get CT scan of ABdomin and pelvic just to make sure and to keep an eye on this .I Think she made that decision after I told her again how much I was in pain with the pelvic exam and the transvagianl sonogram as well. she wants to rule out that there is no bowel obstruction or mass.. Has anyone heard of this or had this happen to them? Oh by the way my ovaries look good (thank god) I never worried so much in my life.Except with my fibrocystic breast (long story) ..Can you get caner of the fallopian tube because I never heard of it and you probably can of any organ. But thanks so much for a great site.

Fallopian Tube Cancer
There is a fallopian tube cancer, although it's quite rare. That your doctor wants a pelvic and abdominal CT scan means that she is being very thorough. Be sure to let us know the results.

Fallopian tube cancer and ovarian cancer are very similar - has your doc run a CA-125?

No she did not run a c-25 test? I will have her after all of this. WOw this is so scary for me I been making my self sick to my stomach over it literally. I had such bad stomach pain this morning I thought I would have to go to the hospital. I thought it could be nerves but when I had a bowel movment it hurt like Heck. NOw again I am scared all over . I did not have any symptoms at all before all this like the pains etc. now every pain I think I have cancer. I give anyone credit who is going through cancer its such a scary thing to go through . I pray for all who is going through this.. and I know most are strong but I give them alot of credit..

my falopian tube had closed in on itself and was enlarged because an ovarian cyst had bled into it..the tube was filled and bulging with a brown fluid but was benign. this I found out when going over the pathology report with my doctor. It had also show up on the internal ultra sound and I was given all the cancer test to rule it out prior to having the proceedure. Best of luck to you

You fallopian tube is 5cm, 2 inches, and your doctor is not concerned? HUH? What does she think is causing this enlargement? Is there any chance you have an ectopic pregnancy? Isn't she concerned that your tube could rupture? A tube swollen to that size is not right. There must be some reason for it. It is certainly NOT normal. Your doctor may not be concerned about it, but I am!
Although fallopian tube cancer is rare, there have been women on this board who had it, and my gyn/onc's partner was treating two cases of it when I was in treatment last year. Have you had a CA125?
I am glad to hear that you will have a follow up CT scan. Did your doctor offer any other advice? If your fallopian tube is that enlarged, couldn't it rupture? If you have severe pain on the side with the swelling I'd advise you to get to the hospital. Did your doctor mention this?
I hope you have some resolution soon. If it helps any, I had cancer and never had any pain or even discomfort.
Take care of yourself and hang in there!

Got My Test Results Back. Now What?
Hi, My doctor told me to get a ct scan but told me not to fret about this, In my research it keeps coming up as chlamydia could cause enlarged fallopian tube also some disease like salpingitis. Of course I keep looking until my ct scan. I have no more pain as of today. But I do understand that people who get no pains still can have cancer . I know that all to well. I hope every thing comes out ok thanks so much for the concern
