Here's a website I found describing the procedure: UCSF enteroclysis explanation .

I'm glad you asked this -- it's my next step too, although they didn't use either of those terms. Of note is the fact that it can take some time, so you'll want to make sure that you have your childcare lined up before you go.

I found a post about it on another GYN message board that I belong to; the writer said that she thought it was "easy," characterizing herself as a "big chicken." She said they gave her some Ativan, but that it didn't even take effect until they were through and that it hadn't been that bad.

Hope this helps, and let us know what happens, OK? I'll be very interested to see how it goes for you!

How long have you been nauseaous and vomiting?

If they can't settle on a gut diagnosis make sure they've ruled out something going on in your head and I don't mean just in your mind. Sometimes things press on the center of your brain that controls vomiting. I hesitate to even mention this for fear you'll run around thinking now you've got a brain tumor, just something to rule out of the puking doesn't come under control.

DO NOT ACCEPT a psych diagnosis unless they scan your head first!

All the best. Ziggy

wel my Drs arent brushing it off .. my DR friend is thinking that they may eventually bursh it off as pshcy if they dont fiond anything

My surgeon's partner /trainess even thinks it might be IBS >>> WHICH IS ONE of those hard to detect things .

I told my surgeon Im even banking on the principle cause to be hormones . why simply because it came in the past everytime I hit mid month . From about day 14 of my cycle which is one week after AF is done for the month ... I start burping and getting nausea .. sometimes it gets so bad I burp food . Yet the test has proven its not GERD/acid reflux which I thought it was .

Even so they want to do tests to exclude all physical causes first . So obediently I go but grumble under my breath LOL .

Im wondering if I should write in to the Dr with what I just wrote here in this post .. because sometimes whenI go to the clinic I forget to mention certain things .

I mentally traced with mY GP .. my symptoms all the way to the time I was carrying my son . My boy is now 8 .5 years old . I had bad morning sickness ... right to the ytime I delivered .

Since then I wuld get regular cycles of burping nd nausea .The inability to eat a regular sized meal was since my hysterectomy because I threw up non stop for 2 days after the surgery .There after anythig I ate triggered off nausea
